About Us
AVIATORS STORY
Welcome to Cheshire Baseball! The Cheshire Aviators are starting registration for our 2023 season. Our program currently welcomes players ages 5-8 for an instructional, developmental, age appropriate chance for players and families to develop a love of baseball.
What we do
Our model of developing baseball players is unique, and considers the age, maturity and abilities of your child in how we teach the game. The game should be fun, and while we want to strive to improve, expectations need to be appropriate and obtainable so that the child wants to keep coming back and grows to love the process of improving. Cheshire Baseball is here to teach baseball skills and develop a lifelong love of the game of baseball.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
- Players will master basic skills before they are asked to master intermediate skills. The skills we learn now are the foundation of the player we hope to become.
- Players will have fun and enjoy their time. We believe in discipline through leadership. A good practice led by vigilant coaches creates a relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere to learn. If the child has fun, they will want to come back and learn more.
- Efficiency. Efficiency. Efficiency. We are all busy. It doesn’t require hours upon hours of boring games, long practices and lost time to teach baseball. Small group practices, focused game activities and effective time means more time for your child to pursue other sports or non-athletic interests. We believe as a core principle that children should be well rounded and should not specialize at a young age. The only way to do this is to be effective with your time.
- Players will learn concepts of teamwork first and competition second. We teach children to value their teammates and their team first – because supporting each other creates the best environment for learning. We teach competition second, because without the team concept, an understanding of what competition in a team sport is will be missed.

Building our Young Players
- As partners with you, we will work to develop your child at the right pace. Not all 5-8 year olds are created equal. By having an individual plan with goals for each child and being consistent, we will improve in each skill area.
- We will challenge each player in age appropriate ways. There will be less sink or swim and more gradual progression. Failure is already a part of the game of baseball. Failure because of age, lack of physical or emotional maturity and/or fine motor skills is not fair to a 5-8 year old.
- We will make your child want to go outside after practice and hit some extra balls, because they will learn to love it and will want to do it. We will take your child from asking “when is practice over?” to “can we stay longer?”
